Marmottan Museum/Impressionists

image

The Marmottan Museum is an impressionist fan’s dream.  It displays the world’s largest collections of Monet and Marisot paintings housed in an elegant structure that was originally a hunting lodge and then home to Paul Marmottan, an avid collector.  The Monet and Marisot collections were bequeathed to the museum for public exhibition by the artists’ families.  Here are some of the images I most enjoyed.

And I also discovered a second scupture by Canova, an 18th century Italian sculptor.  It appears to be a companion piece to Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss, the one at the Louvre that I love so much.image
